Nexus Global was engaged by one of Asia-Pacific’s largest energy retailers to help improve their maintenance program and create a value-added reliability strategy for existing assets. Facing efficiency and reliability issues, the company needed a new strategy to better identify expected and unacceptable failures and opportunities for continuous improvement. The new strategy had to meet one key objective, reduce equipment downtime without compromising safety or contravening quality or legal obligations.
Upon hearing of the successful implementation of Strategy Optimizer™, the company’s Asset Management Leadership team selected Nexus Global as the preferred Asset Performance Management (APM) provider. To support the project, Nexus Global proposed to conduct a pilot study using Strategy Optimizer™ to optimize the PM program of a select group of assets at one of the client's hydropower generating stations.
The pilot study would deliver a revised maintenance strategy with recommendations to increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and reduce unplanned stoppages. As an outcome of the project, the company provided maintenance and operation teams with a complete profile of maintenance strategies based on criticality and failure mode mitigation. Thus, allowing for the implementation of a unified reliability strategy to improve the existing PM program and avoid downtime.
